Our story

Managing a family business

In 2004, while managing administration and finances for a family-owned manufacturing business, our founder, a senior software engineer at the time, who worked on mainly financial systems for an international company, was not comfortable implementing available software solutions for the family business. He found existing options were inadequate for supporting the business operations and provided little to no value for making important business decisions.

He started development of a system to meet the companies unique business requirements. The result was a cloud-based solution integrating procurement, sales, stock management and financials with a strong focus on reporting and analytics to manage business operations.

Enquiries were received from customers and suppliers about the system when they received invoices or purchase orders. Recognising a gap in the market for enterprise business solutions, the system was customised and implemented for numerous vendors. Key features for many industries and business sectors were developed along the way.

In 2015, Librae Systems (Pty) Ltd was formally established to cater for a growing client base. This was a key milestone on our journey to building and implementing business software solutions for larger established businesses. And our system finally got a name, Librae Business.

In 2020 Librae Desk, a help desk system, was developed to support our client base. Librae Desk has a content management system to maintain a knowledge base while the ticketing function is used to monitor and track user queries and requests. Subsequently Librae Desk has been adopted by many of our clients.
